Ruby

Hi dears! My name is Ruby and I’m a 67 pound, 11 year old, fuzzy black lab/German shepherd mix. I came to OWAR as an owner surrender and they have assured me that this is the place to find my forever home! So… a little about me:

I love my people. I always greet them with the biggest smile and constant tail wag. If I think you’re not paying enough attention to me I will gently paw you for attention. One of my favorite pastimes is begging for food and then not eating it once you offer it to me. I get such a kick out of it. I’m very low energy but I still get little boosts and bounce back and forth on my paws like I’m dancing. Overall I am extremely well behaved and would love to find my furever home to live the rest of my days at. I may be on the older side, but I’m still down for a couple exciting walks a week. If you think you may be interested in meeting me, then head over to owar.org and fill out an adoption questionnaire. I’ll grab my leash and collar and we’ll see about taking those walks together.

Ruby would do best in any home looking for a low-key laid-back dog to give endless love and pets to. She’s a plus size gal hoping to find parents that get her on a little exercise program to shed some pounds. Ruby can co-exist with other dogs as her friends, but in her old age would prefer to not be bothered by more than her human friends and thus would prefer a home without other pets. All potential adopters should own a good brush and the expectation of black hair on all their clothes and food.
